Updated: Aug 23, 2022

Lifeway Mobility, a portfolio company of Rockwood Equity Partners, continues to execute on an aggressive growth strategy with the recent closing of two additional investments, Gamburd and Stairbusters. The two add-on acquisitions will provide enhanced scale and geographic reach to Lifeway’s existing platform. Based in Hartford, Conn., Lifeway Mobility offers a full selection of accessibility and safety equipment, including stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, elevators, ramps, transfer lifts, and bath safety solutions.

Gamburd is a licensed dealer of stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, residential elevators, ramps, step-in tubs and overhead lifts, bath safety equipment and other home modifications. Gamburd will continue to serve more than 250 cities throughout California from two locations in Pacoima and Union City. Israel Gamburd, the company founder, together with his wife Regina and their experienced team, plan to continue in their current roles at Lifeway.

Stairbusters, headquartered in Western Pennsylvania, is a certified dealer of stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, residential elevators, ramps, overhead lifts and bath safety equipment. They also are a provider in various veterans administration, state, county and agency funding programs, and serve customers throughout Pennsylvania and bordering areas of Ohio, New York and West Virginia. Andrew McKowan Sr., the company founder, together with his son Andy Jr., will continue in their current roles at Lifeway as well.

“During the past two and half years since our partnership began, Rockwood has been delighted to support Lifeway on its impressive growth trajectory,” said Nils Holum, Principal at Rockwood. “We look forward to further leveraging our healthcare industry knowledge and implementing the operational tools of the Rockwood Business System to further solidify Lifeway’s leadership position the home accessibility and safety solutions market.” Lifeway has now completed a total of six add-on acquisitions since Rockwood first invested in the company in 2018.

Rockwood continues to seek more add-ons for Lifeway, including providers of home accessibility products, such as stair lifts, ramps, residential elevators and bathroom accessories, among others.
